Background & Purpose
- The Club Accountants Association of America was established in 1965 and it continues to grow stronger every year. The Association consists of members from city, country, golf, yacht, tennis and sports clubs, as well as numerous affiliate members that serve our industry. The main objectives of the Club Accountants Association are as follows:

·                      To enhance the practice of technical and professional proficiency in club accounting

and financial management.

·                      To provide a network of information and ideas between members and other related

professional and trade associations.

·                      To provide leadership in the establishment and enhancement of club accounting,

financial management and information processing practices and standards.

 

Membership in the Club Accountants Association of America provides one with an excellent opportunity to network in addition to the ability to keep abreast of current trends and issues related to our unique industry.


Cost of Membership
- The annual cost to participate in the Club Accountants Association varies depending upon the type of membership that is applicable to you.  Members are required to pay annual dues in addition to a charge for each monthly meeting that they attend. Following is a list of membership categories and the related annual dues.


Membership Categories

 

REGULAR              Members who are in a capacity such as Controllers, Bookkeepers or Office Managers of a

city or country club and other such social and/or recreational clubs. ($125 annual dues)

               

AFFILIATE              Principals or employees of professional firms serving the club or hospitality industry.

($125 annual dues)

                                               

ASSOCIATE          Members who are employees working under the supervision of  Regular Members.   ($65 annual dues)

 

NON-RESIDENT  Members who reside outside the state of Illinois. ($50 annual dues)                                         

 

SOCIAL                  Individuals who have left the club accounting field but who wish to retain membership in the

organization. ($50 annual dues)                       


Association Meetings
- Club Accountants Association meetings are not only professional but social as well.   Meetings are held monthly at select Clubs throughout  the Chicago area. Members are given at least 10 days advance notice of these meetings.  Reservations are required for attendance. The meetings consist of a cocktail hour followed by a formal Association meeting. After the Association meeting, a guest speaker usually appears  who lectures on a topic appropriate to our industry.   A fine dining experience is provided by the host club following the speaker. In addition to regular monthly meetings, the Association holds a variety of special meetings, including an annual golf outing and a year-end holiday party.

 

The current cost to attend a regular monthly meeting is $55.  This includes cocktails, hors oeuvres, the meeting, the speaker and dinner.  You and/or your business/club will be billed for any meetings that you attend.  Payment is due to the Association within 30 days. The money that is collected from monthly meeting attendance is given directly to the host Club in order to defray expense (which often exceeds the $55 per attendee).
